She was an owner surrender to the shelter. The notes said that her owners surrendered her because she got pregnant. She gave birth to her 5 beautiful kittens the first night she was with us (and took care of two orphans Shortly after). Zoey has been a great mother and is now ready to get back to her kitten-hood in a new home. She still likes to play with feather wands at times, but mostly loves to cuddle and is very affectionate. She can be independent as well, looking out the windows and exploring. She is a perfect cat; not overly needy and sweet and loving. Zoey is good with dogs but would prefer to be the only cat.

Most shelters euthanize when a kitty tests positive for FIV because they are harder to adopt out. So we swooped in and rescued Zoey up and we are so glad we did!

What is FIV?:

“FIV”–feline immunodeficiency virus is not contagious to people or to dogs at all, and ONLY contagious to other kitties if–and ONLY if–she bites the kitty really hard and draws blood or if they bite her very hard. This would have to be a deep wound with another cat and they would have to exchange blood.
